Oxygen (O) is a harmful element in steel such as S500 steel properties. Although manganese, silicon, iron and aluminum are added to deoxidize the steel at the end of steelmaking, they can not be removed completely. During the solidification of molten steel, the reaction of oxygen and carbon in the solution will produce carbon monoxide, which can cause bubbles. Oxygen mainly exists in the form of FeO, MnO, SiO2, Al2O3 and other inclusions in the steel, which reduces the strength and plasticity of the steel. Especially, it has serious influence on fatigue strength and impact toughness.

In the second step of hot rolling process, different finished mills are used to roll billets or continuous casting billets into finished steel of proper shape and size. This S500 steel properties production process is called finished product production, which is generally divided into two stages of rough rolling and finish rolling. In the roughing stage, a large amount of reduction (reduction per pass) is adopted to reduce the number of passes and improve the output; after roughing, the finishing stage is entered, and the finishing is carried out with a small amount of reduction to achieve a good surface and accurate S500 steel properties size.

S500 steel properties, Structural steel is a kind of steel which meets the strength of specific specifications. Structural steel can be divided into: alloy structural steel, carbon structural steel, low alloy structural steel, heat-resistant structural steel and so on. According to different uses, structural steel can be divided into construction steel and mechanical steel. Construction steel is used to build boilers, ships, bridges, workshops and other buildings. Mechanical steel is used for manufacturing machinery or mechanical parts. Mechanical steel is often used after carburizing or quenching and tempering.
