The chemical composition of S690QL steel is a high-strength, low-alloy structural steel that is often specified for heavy manufacturing and construction applications. It contains a minimum of 0.20% carbon and up to 0.80% manganese, as well as other elements such as chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and vanadium, which contribute to its superior properties. Standard grade S690QL has a tensile strength of 800 MPa, yield strength of 590 MPa, and a hardness Brinell of 343 HBW. This steel is characterized by its excellent weldability, toughness, low-temperature toughness, and good fatigue strength. At room temperature, the chemical composition of S690QL steel includes: 0.20-0.30% Carbon, 0.80-1.20% Manganese, 0.015-0.035% Phosphorus, 0.010-0.040% Sulfur, 0.50-1.00% Nickel, 0.30-0.50% Silicon, 0.50-1.50% Chromium, 0.15-0.25% Molybdenum, 0.25-0.45% Vanadium, 0.10-0.50% Copper, 0.30-0.70% Aluminum, and 0.0015-0.0045% Nitrogen.
