The production process of hot-rolled steel plate and cold-rolled steel plate is different. Hot rolled steel plate is rolled at high temperature, and cold rolled steel plate is rolled at normal temperature. The thickness of S690QL brinell cold rolling is generally smaller, and that of hot rolling can be larger. The surface quality, appearance and dimension accuracy of cold rolled steel plate are better than that of hot rolled steel plate.

There is an inherent difference between the cold forming properties of low-alloy high-strength steel and carbon structural steel. First of all, a certain amount of permanent deformation of low-alloy high-strength steel requires greater force than S690QL brinell, carbon structural steel of the same size. Second, when low-alloy high-strength steel is formed, a slightly larger allowable amount for springback should be given. According to experience, unless the low-alloy high-strength steel is processed to control the shape of inclusions, it is necessary to use a larger bending radius than carbon structural steel during cold forming.

Although S690QL brinell, low carbon steel has excellent plasticity, toughness and processing technology, its strength is low and its corrosion resistance is not strong enough. On the basis of ordinary low carbon steel, the low alloy structural steel with high strength, high toughness, good weldability and corrosion resistance can be obtained by adding a small amount of alloy elements and the total amount is less than 3%. Manganese is the main additive element in this kind of steel, and its content is about 1% ~ 1.6%.
