Application and performance of S550 steel grade

Global S550 steel grade crude steel production in March this year increased by 2.6 percent month on month and fell by six percent year on year to 147.1 million metric tons. accordina to the World Steel Association (worldsteel).In the first quarter of this year, global S550 steel grade crude steel production decreased to 443.03 million mt, down 1.4 percent year on year。

S550 steel grade, SS400 steel is one of the most commonly used hot rolled general structural steel. SS400 steel’s mechanical properties is yield strength more than 225-235MPa, tensile strength 360-510Mpa and 340-470Mpa. For SS400 steel, the C element content is 0.2% max, the Mn element content is 1.40% max, the P element content is 0.045% max, the S element content is 0.045% max.

In year 2015, we ship 750 tons H beam to Pakistan for our old customer for building use. Because of urgent demand, the H beams are partial shipment by bulk vessel.
