S690QL material characteristics and use

Medium and thick steel plates are widely used in construction engineering, machinery manufacturing, container manufacturing, shipbuilding, bridge construction and so on. However, each project has different requirements for plate size. How to cut S690QL material, medium and thick steel plates? There are many ways, for example, flame cutting, laser cutting, wire cutting, plasma cutting, ultra-high pressure water cutting and so on.

The Egypt customer ordered 130 tons S690QL material stainless steel plate in stock, and this batch has left port today for its destination today(October 25th, 2019). 316l stainless steel is molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. This material has better corrosion resistant property than 304/314L for it's higher Ni and Mo content. (it is considered to be marine grade stainless steel, not suitable for warm sea water treatment). 316L austenitic stainless steel supplied by our company has good formability and weldablity, additionally it is proved to have excellent properties of tensile, creep and stress-rupture strengths in elevated temperature environment.

Q420C steel belongs to low alloy high strength steel. Q420 is named as the steel with yield strength of 420MPa, C means the impact temperature is 0 ℃, and Q is the abbreviation of yield strength. Chemical composition of Q420C steel: C ≤ 0.20, Si ≤ 0.50, Mn ≤ 1.70, P ≤ 0.035, S ≤ 0.035, Nb ≤ 0.07, V ≤ 0.20, Ti ≤ 0.20, Cr ≤ 0.30, Ni ≤ 0.80, Cu ≤ 0.30, N ≤ 0.015, Mo ≤ 0.20. The mechanical properties of Q420C steel are: yield strength ≥ 340 Mpa, tensile strength 500-680 Mpa, elongation after fracture ≥ 18%, impact energy 34J. S690QL material, Q420C steel has good mechanical properties and weldability, good cold and hot workability.
