According to the new report of the World Steel Association (worldsteel), the world crude steel production for the 64 countries has reached to143.3 million tonnes (Mt) in February 2020, a 2.8% increase compared to February 2019. China’s S960 steel grade, crude steel production for February 2020 was 74.8 Mt, an increase of 5.0% compared to February 2019. India produced 9.6 Mt of crude steel in February 2020, up 1.5% on February 2019. Japan produced 7.9 Mt of crude steel in February 2020, up 2.2% on February 2019.

Steel pipe refers to the steel with openings at both ends and hollow section, and its length is larger than that of surrounding steel. India's Ministry of S960 steel grade steel has extended the deadline for steel product certification from April 23 to three months as the Bureau of standards (BIS) has closed factories and laboratories due to the current blockade and travel ban. According to the order of the Ministry of Commerce, "the implementation date of the following Indian Standards is extended for three months after April 23, according to the notice of the order for S960 steel grade steel products 2000."
