S690QL1 steel grade grade variants and properties

S690QL1 steel grade and SM490B steel plate belongs to low alloy high strength steel, which is a kind of structural steel produced according to Japanese Standard JIS G3106. Its strength σb is 490MPa. S690QL1 steel grade, SM490B steel plate is mainly used in buildings, bridges, ships, rail vehicles, oil storage tanks, containers and other buildings requiring advanced weldability.

Lopes, President of the Brazilian Iron and Steel Association, pointed out that at present, increasing S690QL1 steel grade and so on steel exports would be the best choice for Brazilian steel producers. The Association has made a series of proposals to the Brazilian government to support the economic recovery. Lopes revealed that the Association is seeking to increase the export tax rebate proportion of the steel industry from the current 0.1% to 5%, which will give related products a price advantage of 7% when exporting, and the export volume is expected to increase by 20%.

The advantages of S690QL1 steel grade, steel plate produced from coil: price is cheap and length can be freely determined; transportation is convenient, no need to consider according to the size of steel plate; cutting is convenient, according to the actual needs of steel plate size cutting, and finally can effectively save materials. The disadvantage of steel plate produced from coil: there will be great welding deformation during welding, which is difficult to adjust. Therefore, the steel plate produced from coil can not be used for parts with high requirements on appearance quality.
