S690QL1 steel grades Vs 301 Stainless Steel

We have S690QL1 steel grades new cooperation projects with NNPC (Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation). Through tender, we got new order about oil tank plates for NNPC, and the tank plates will be used to build large oil tanks. This is not the first time we cooperated with NNPC, but it means much more to us than first time cooperation. Under normal exposure to the atmosphere, S690QL1 steel grades, bare steel forms a tight protective oxide film during the first few months of atmospheric corrosion. Sometimes architects choose bare steel structures because they want to get the appearance of uniform atmospheric oxidation on the steel surface, and sometimes they are to save the protective coating for economic purposes. To use these low-alloy high-strength steels in a bare state, the design must consider that the surface of the steel cannot be wet for a long time, and special attention should be paid to the special atmospheric environment to ensure that the corrosion rate of the steel is allowed under this condition.

S690QL1 steel grades, SS400 steel is one of the most commonly used hot rolled general structural steel. SS400 steel’s mechanical properties is yield strength more than 225-235MPa, tensile strength 360-510Mpa and 340-470Mpa. For SS400 steel, the C element content is 0.2% max, the Mn element content is 1.40% max, the P element content is 0.045% max, the S element content is 0.045% max.

The Peru customer has cooperated with us since April 2015, and then they purchased 300 tons A36 mild steel plates as trial order. Since then, they book more than 1000 tons from us every time, and about two times every year. They asked SGS test every time.
